Restoration of the sculpted wooden decor of the prow and stern of the Belem

The woods of the famous ship’s historic decorations were damaged by the elements and usage. The Belem Foundation and the DRAC Pays-de-Loire have once again trusted our workshop to carry out the restoration.

Les frises et cordages présentaient de nombreuses lacunes et épaufrures. En parement, on notait la présence d’interventions anciennes à la résine masquant des pertes de matière importantes. Au revers, des incrustations de pièces avaient également été réalisées.
