Since the early 2000s, the Sainte-Croix d’Orléans Cathedral has benefited from a major restoration and enhancement campaign led by the DRAC Centre-Val-de-Loire.

A new crucial stage is completed with the restoration of the Saint-Louis Chapel, which now houses part of the Cathedral’s Treasury.

Our workshops are happy to have participated in this project which included the restoration of the neo-gothic confessional preserved in the chapel and especially the realization of a secure showcase combining wood and stainless steel for the exhibition of the Treasure.

Placed opposite the confessional, the display case, made in the traditional way, in solid first-quality oak, was designed in harmony with the ancient furniture: the moldings of the bottom panels, the cornices and the small columns have been copied from the moldings of the confessional, and the two panels on the sides of the fixed part have been made identical to the sides of the confessional. The stainless steel structure was made by our partner the forge workshop Robert & Robert.
